10 PPSU Personnel Handle Inundation in Kampung Melayu

As many as 10 PPSU personnel were deployed to handle inundation at several locations in Kampung Melayu Urban Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Friday (3/15).

The water started to inundate at 12:15 AM

Kampung Melayu Urban Village Head, Angga Harjuno Rakasiwi, admitted the inundation was caused by Ciliwung River overflow. The water as high as 25 to 80 cm inundated RW 04, 05, 07 and 08.

According to him, the residents preferred to stay at their house even though his side has prepared evacuation location at the urban village office yard.

"The water started to inundate at 12:15 AM up to 2 AM. It escalated from 10 cm to 80 cm," he said.

Kampung Melayu Urban Village's Economy and Development Section Head, Yulia Krisna, stated 10 PPSU personnel were disbursed to several locations to clean waste taken by the water.

"We'll also ready to clean mud together with the residents after the water has receded," she stated.

Meanwhile, Jatinegara Sub-district's Water Resource Implementer Unit Head, Robi Triawan, his side deployed four personnel to monitor the inundation location.

"We're still unable to pump the inundation since the water level is as high as the river," he stated.
